Day 1
Home Sweet Rome
Today was a whirlwind of excitement as our staff and students embarked on a journey through the vibrant streets of Rome. Their itinerary was packed with adventures, starting with a visit to the iconic Spanish Steps. The grandeur of the staircase and the bustling energy of the surrounding area left them soaking in the rich history and beauty that enveloped them.
Next, they wandered into the enchanting Piazza Del Popolo, where the grandeur of Rome truly came alive. The expansive square greeted them with its stunning architecture. They strolled amidst the elegant fountains, marveling at the intricate details of the surrounding churches and palaces. The lively atmosphere filled us with a sense of wonder and appreciation for the timeless charm of this ancient city.
As the day unfolded and the students headed back to the hotel for their evening meal, each moment from today was filled with new discoveries and unforgettable experiences.
Day 2
Rome-ing-around
The second day in Rome unfolded with a sense of anticipation as staff and students embarked on a journey to the heart of Vatican City. The anticipation was palpable as staff and students eagerly made their way to the Vatican for an audience with the Pope. The solemnity of the occasion was met with a sense of reverence and excitement as they listened intently to his words of wisdom, grateful for the opportunity to be in his presence.
Following this unforgettable experience, they continued their exploration of the city, immersing themselves in its rich history and culture. Their next stop led them to the Vatican Museums and the breathtaking Sistine Chapel. The intricate artworks left them spellbound, deepening their appreciation for the artistic legacy of centuries past.
As the day drew to a close, they gathered for a true Italian feast of pizza and pasta, and recounted the day’s adventures. The warmth of Italian hospitality surrounded them, fostering a sense of camaraderie and gratitude for the memories they had created together.
They bid farewell to Rome’s enchanting streets for the second day, eagerly preparing themselves for the adventures that awaited them tomorrow.
Day 3
There’s no place like Rome
Today was a day filled with wonder as students and staff embarked on a journey through Rome’s ancient history. Their first stop was the Colosseum, where they were mesmerised by its grandeur and the stories it held within its walls. Walking through the ancient ruins of the Roman Forum.
The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the visit to the Capitoline Museums. The treasures housed within these walls left everyone speechless, each artifact telling a story of Rome’s rich cultural heritage. From intricate sculptures to breathtaking artworks, they were all captivated by the beauty and craftsmanship on display.
Day 4
On their final day in Rome, emotions ran high as the staff and students bid farewell to the captivating city. Their morning began with a visit to the iconic Trevi Fountain, where each member took a moment to absorb its majestic beauty one last time. With a sense of nostalgia, they tossed coins into the fountain, symbolizing their farewell to Rome and their hope for a return one day.
As the day unfolded, the students and staff embraced every opportunity for last-minute sightseeing, determined to soak in the beauty of the city before heading home. From meandering through charming cobblestone streets to marveling at ancient ruins, each moment was cherished and savored.
As they prepared to depart, reflections on the memories created and the experiences shared during their time in Rome filled their thoughts.
