Big news at CTK… introducing our Centres of Excellence

As CTK goes from strength to strength, we are really excited to share the news of our new Sixth Form Centres for Excellence, that are launching from September 2020.

CTK Aquinas in Brockley will become the area’s only Catholic A Level selective sixth form centre. CTK Aquinas will offer a choice of 23 A Level subjects, successful mentoring programmes and extensive pastoral support.

CTK Aquinas students will be enrolled on the Scholarship Graduate Programme and given the support to achieve entry to the country’s most prestigious universities, such as Oxford, Cambridge and the Russell Group.  The Scholarship Graduate Programme gives students the qualifications and skills needed to progress to an elite university as well as unprecedented access to unique opportunities, trips and support. CTK Aquinas will offer a place for high achieving students with top GCSE scores. The curriculum at CTK Aquinas has been modelled through partnership with independent schools and students will receive targeted support from some of the best A Level teachers.

CTK Aquinas is a purpose-built, modern sixth form with a range of specialist facilities and resources to support students in their studies. This includes a spacious, state of the art learning resources centre, a fitness suite, media suites and a range of specialist art, design and technology rooms and science laboratories.

From September 2020, CTK Emmanuel in Blackheath becomes a professional centre for excellence and the only Catholic sixth form in the area offering a wide range of vocational courses, with the emphasis on highly specialised routes to university. Students at CTK Emmanuel will receive extensive pastoral support, combined with the structure of a sixth form environment.  Students will gain access to an influential alumni network and industry insight into their chosen subject to help them excel in their studies and future career.

At CTK Emmanuel, students will be able to choose their specialist area from a wide range of BTEC subjects, preparing students for university study and careers in engineering, science, business, health, education, media and creative industries, IT and digital technology, sport and performing arts. CTK Emmanuel students will gain access to an influential alumni network and industry insight into their chosen subject to help them excel.  Students will benefit from specialised teaching and careers support, helping them to progress to leading universities.  Currently almost 90% of CTK BTEC students progress to University, with around half of these being Russell Group institutions.

Sixth Form centre for excellence CTK St Mary’s in Sidcup, will continue to offer a wide range of A Level and vocational courses and exclusively developed specialised graduate programmes. Students with top GCSE scores will enrol on the Advanced Graduate Programme and will study alongside high achieving students with similar aspirations.
