CTK Emmanuel Alumnus Christopher Uyiekpen: Bridging Science and Creativity While Giving Back to His Community
Former CTK Emmanuel student Christopher Uyiekpen is a shining example of resilience, ambition, and the power of pursuing both purpose and passion. Growing up in Kennington and attending Haberdashers’ School before joining Christ the King Emmanuel in 2013, Christopher embarked on a demanding academic path, studying A Levels in Biology, Chemistry, Economics, and Psychology. He completed his studies in 2015 and has gone from strength to strength ever since.
Determined to make a difference in people’s lives, Christopher went on to study Pharmacy at the Medway School of Pharmacy. His journey wasn’t without challenges – setbacks in his final year tested his perseverance – but his determination never wavered. He qualified as a pharmacist and now works across several community pharmacies in South East London, using his skills to serve and support the very community that shaped him.
But Christopher’s story doesn’t end with pharmacy. With a lifelong passion for the creative industries, he took a bold leap just over a year ago and launched The Gallery Creatives – a unique social media platform and directory that connects users to creatives based on their niche and location. As CEO and founder, Christopher leads a growing network of artists, designers, photographers, and performers, empowering creative talents to be seen, discovered, and celebrated.
Balancing two successful careers – one rooted in healthcare and the other in creativity – is no small feat. Yet Christopher manages both with unwavering dedication, proving that success doesn’t have to be defined by a single path.
“To me, being successful means living in a way that allows you to serve others while staying true to your passions,” says Christopher. “Pharmacy helps me connect with people’s needs on a personal level, and The Gallery Creatives allows me to support artists who deserve to be seen. It’s all about making a difference – in health, in creativity, and in community.”
Christopher’s connection to CTK remains strong. He recently returned to CTK Emmanuel to take part in the Evening of Celebration – a special event recognising student achievements and the enduring spirit of the CTK community. His presence was a powerful reminder to current students that success is not always a straight line, and that perseverance, passion, and purpose can coexist.
CTK Emmanuel is proud to call Christopher Uyiekpen one of its alumni – a trailblazer, community champion, and creative entrepreneur making waves across South East London and beyond.
