Grand Opening of St Joseph’s Hospital Ward

We are proud to announce the official opening of our St Joseph’s Hospital Ward, a groundbreaking facility at Christ the King St Mary’s that takes hands-on learning to the next level for our T Level Health and Science students.

This state-of-the-art ward replicates a real hospital environment, complete with lifelike mannequins that match the density and weight of real humans. Here, students can practise vital skills such as CPR, responding to emergency scenarios, and taking blood pressure readings—immersing themselves in the realities of healthcare professions and preparing for successful futures in the field.

The grand opening event was an inspiring celebration of innovation and progress. Guests witnessed live demonstrations showcasing the practical skills our students have already started mastering. The event also featured speeches from our Executive Principal, Shireen Razey OBE, and special guest Shelagh Legrave, alongside a heartfelt blessing by our Priest Chaplain Father Sombu. Together, Shireen and Shelagh unveiled a commemorative plaque, with Shelagh cutting the ribbon to officially open the ward.

Guests were also able to experience the ward firsthand, with students offering to take their blood pressure, giving them a glimpse into the professionalism and skill of our learners.

This new facility underscores our commitment to providing students with top-tier learning environments, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and confidence to excel in their future healthcare careers.

We look forward to seeing the remarkable journeys that will begin here at our St Joseph’s Hospital Ward.
