CTK St Mary’s Celebrates National Award Success — Another Reason to Choose Us for A Levels

Christ the King Sixth Form St Mary’s is celebrating another exceptional student achievement as A Level student Marnie Crump has been awarded Runner-Up in the prestigious AQA & AoC Inspiring Project Award. This national recognition marks the second year in a row that a CTK St Mary’s student has achieved runner-up status in this highly competitive award.

This remarkable achievement highlights the strength of our A Level provision, demonstrating the outstanding teaching, academic support and personalised guidance that students receive at CTK St Mary’s. Our students continue to excel – showing exactly why CTK St Mary’s is the ideal place for ambitious young people to study their A Levels.

Marnie’s award-winning EPQ, “To what extent do tigers undergo psychological stress as a result of being in captivity?”, showcased her exceptional research skills, analytical thinking and academic maturity. Initially expecting her research to support her belief that zoos negatively impact tiger welfare, Marnie instead uncovered a far more complex reality, concluding that modern zoos play a vital role in conservation and animal wellbeing. Her willingness to challenge her own assumptions deeply impressed the judges.

Marnie aspires to become a wildlife veterinarian, and her EPQ has strengthened her passion for conservation, zoology and animal welfare. She credits the EPQ and the support she received at CTK St Mary’s for giving her the confidence, independence and academic curiosity needed to succeed at the next stage of her studies.

At CTK St Mary’s, students benefit from experienced post 16 teachers, strong academic culture, and exceptional progression support. Whether studying A Levels, BTECs, or T Levels, every learner is empowered to achieve their potential.

With two successive national award successes, CTK St Mary’s continues to prove itself as a centre of academic excellence and an inspiring place for students to grow, thrive and achieve.

Applications for September entry are now open — join a Sixth Form where students’ achievements are recognised not just locally, but nationally.

CTK St Mary’s, an A Level Centre of Excellence, is a place where academic curiosity, ambition, and personalised support help students genuinely excel.
