Christmas Gift Appeal 2024
Christ the King Sixth Forms and East Kent Colleges Group proudly announce the return of the beloved Christmas Gift Appeal!
Now celebrating its fifth year, this heartwarming initiative is set to raise even more donations and gifts, spreading festive cheer to those in need with the support of students, staff, and the wider community.
Spearheaded by the dedicated husband-and-wife duo, Shireen Razey OBE (Executive Principal of Christ the King Sixth Forms) and Graham Razey OBE (Chief Executive at EKC Group), the campaign has not only amassed thousands of pounds in financial support but also received countless gifts for those in need. The donations and funds raised will support Demelza Hospice Care for Children, Refuge, Foodbank, and the St Vincent de Paul Society, organisations dedicated to helping individuals facing poverty, hardship, and illness.
Shireen Razey shares her passion for the initiative, saying: “This campaign is about coming together as a community to support one another, especially during the festive season. While times can still be tough for many, it’s heartening to see how local efforts can make a real difference. We are proud to play a part in helping bring some joy and relief to families who need it most, and we’re grateful for the ongoing spirit of generosity that defines our community.”
Graham Razey highlights the collective impact of the community, adding: “We started this campaign during the pandemic, as it felt so important that everyone was able to enjoy some festive celebrations during one of the most challenging times our country and the communities we proudly serve had faced. Whilst we’re out of those tough times, there’s no doubt that things remain difficult for many families with young people and children, so I’m tremendously proud that East Kent Colleges Group and Christ the King Sixth Form College are still able to play a part in bringing some festive cheer to our communities.”
Through generous donations, along with a captivating charity art auction, the Appeal seeks to bring joy to families this holiday season. Students from both college groups have contributed their artwork to the auction, with all proceeds going to the selected charities. Winning bidders will receive their items in time for Christmas, further enriching the festive spirit.
A huge thank you to those who contributed towards the campaign via the colleges GoFundMe and Art Auction. An incredible sum was raised for the charities we supported this year.
