Teacher-Assessed Grades

Teacher Assessed Grades

Christ the King (CTK) Sixth Forms has undertaken to give each student a centre assessed grade (CAG) and to set a rank order.  This was completed following the guidance from Ofqual (See link to guidance here: Summer 2020 grades for GCSE, AS and A level, Extended Project Qualification and Advanced Extension Award in maths).

CTK Sixth Forms has set out a clear process by which the CAG grade and rank were decided so that each member of our community received a fair and reasonable outcome.  The outcomes predicted and the rank ordering were made, in line with the Ofqual guidance, based on student performance before March 2020. Any assessment or feedback given after the March 2020 closure of schools was not considered in the judgement.  Ofqual has published a student guide for those receiving qualification results in England this summer. This guide should help you and your parents and carers understand how results have been awarded this year and where to find more information.

We have sought to give fair and reasonable grades to each student by following a set protocol, this included teaching staff setting out their initial grades and rank based on individual performance prior to the March 2020 closure of schools and colleges.  The information was then reviewed and scrutinised to ensure a fair and reasonable outcome was submitted for each student.  We have throughout the process sought to give a fair and reasonable outcome for each member of our community, we have done this by following the Ofqual guidance, and also reminding ourselves of our mission and the way in which we conduct all our work at CTK Sixth Forms.
