Coronavirus Update

Reopening our Sixth Forms

In line with Government guidance regarding the reopening of our Sixth Forms, we will look to do so from 15th June to a very small number of invited students.

We will send clear instructions on the work we’re undertaking to ensure the Sixth Form remains a safe environment for your education, and the actions which we will need you to carry out to safely return to our learning environments.

We will only reopen if it is deemed safe to do so following the creation of detailed risk assessments and will also only reopen subject to final Government approval to do so.

If you would like to contact us please call 020 8297 9433 and will be able to answer your call between the hours of 10am and 3pm. Outside of these hours please email us at enquiries@ctksfc.ac.uk

Ofqual Announcements – BTECs

Ofqual have announced that courses which are undertaken as a substitution to A Levels and GCSEs will undertake a similar centre-assessed grade calculation and ranking model to determine students’ final grades (as A Level and GCSE courses, described above).  We are awaiting, from Ofqual, some more details this week regarding BTEC grading. We will update the website as soon as we have more information.

Students  who left CTK in 2019 and had requested to resit an exam have been written to with an update regarding the Ofqual announcement.  For these students teaching staff lack the current evidence required by Ofqual to be able to provide a centre predicted grade. These students will, however, have the opportunity to resit A Levels in the autumn term, once we know the dates of the autumn resits we will write to those students and update our website.  Ofqual are still exploring the situation, for students not currently studying at a Centre (Private Candidate) Ofqual have stated:

Resits for Year 13 students who left in 2019

“We are urgently exploring whether there are alternative options for those students who do not have an existing relationship with a centre and who need results this summer for progression purposes. Unfortunately, this is unlikely to be possible for all private candidates, some of whom may instead need to take exams in the autumn to get their grades. We appreciate that this is a matter of real concern to private candidates and will provide an update as soon as possible.”

GCSE and A Level results

These will take place at the following dates:

We know that this may leave the students affected with questions or concerns regarding their university place.  If you have been affected by this, please contact our careers team on careers@ctksfc.ac.uk  who will be able to offer you support and guidance in approaching your universities where you have offers. We know that some universities are being more flexible given the current situation.
